Our People
We have a team of practitioners with a vast amount experience within both the private and public sectors and thus have an understanding of the culture of both these working environments.
Our assessors are all ex-fire safety officers each with decades of practical fire safety experience in the Fire Service. More about our Fire Risk Assessors...
We have just added Tracy Hurst, a Health and Safety expert, to our team (January 2010)
The Team
Andrew Kerr:
Profile coming soon.
Ben Yates:
Ben specialises in web design and all things IT, making him a rare commodity in Safety Management (UK). Having been with the company almost since the beginning, Ben has seen many changes. Ben is an avid car enthusiast and enjoys football, being a Blackburn Rovers supporter for his sins in life.
Brian Gregory:
With a background in The Scots Guards and Fire Service, Brian has vast experience in the Safety and Training arena. Brian took part in the 1987 Trooping of the Colour and served around the world, before joining Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service. As a retired amateur rugby player, Brian follows the Bradford Bulls and has an interest in most sports.
Brian is at his most relaxed with a beer in hand, especially if Star Wars happens to be on. He has recently developed a taste for chicken's feet following a trip to Hong Kong, and when the time comes, he would like to come back as a fully trained Jedi Knight.
Carol Hayes:
Profile coming soon.
Carole Wright:
Carole worked in the leisure industry for many years before taking her love for first aid and medical training up as a full time career. Carole lives and works out of Derby, but she enjoys travelling so don’t be surprised to see her training you soon. As you can see from Carole’s picture, she used to attend auditions around the country for The Blues Brothers.
Carole is happiest on the sofa watching Titanic or reading The Horse Whisperer, although she would like to visit the USA, particularly New York and Graceland at some point. Carole is something of an animal lover, her first job was as a groom at a show pony and hunters stable, and when the time comes, she would like to come back as her dog.
Chris Tyler:
Chris is our ultra-efficient Office Manager who has spent most of his career in media monitoring and found his way to us via a quaint cafe in Kendal. Chris is an avid reader with a spare room at home dedicated to books. When asked about other hobbies, Chris lists C-beebies, colouring and painting! With six-year-old Elizabeth at home, his time is filled well.
Chris is at his happiest sat at the kitchen table enjoying a Thai meal and has ambitions to visit Mexico City. Chris enjoys French films, his favourite being Diva (1981), and when the time comes, he would like to come back as himself and do it all again.
Dave Johnstone:
Dave recently retired from Lancashire Fire & Rescue Service after a career of 30 years. Prior to joining the Fire Service he served in the Army with the 2nd Battalion Scots Guards.
He has a keen interest in military history and fell-walking.

John Timperley:
Profile coming soon.
Mick Goldstone:
Mick, having retired from the fire service a few years ago now, it seems to like to spend more time in France on holiday than working! Which is an envious position to be in. Mick conducts fire risk assessments and conducts evacuation drills with clients, and has even been know to take the odd training session. If Mick ever comes to your company, his next holiday will not be far off.
Peter Grisedale:
Peter is a highly trained and skilled fire safety advisor with over 34 years experience as a fire fighter / fire officer. During his Fire Service career he worked for several years as a specialist Fire Safety Officer and was involved with many projects involving complex buildings.
Ralph Oldacres:
Profile coming soon.
Ray Colyer:
After a career employed helping multinationals companies with their fire safety issues, Ray has struck out on his own as an independent consultant helping businesses both large and small with Fire Risk Assessments and Fire Safety Training.
Stan Pullan:
During Stan's 40 years with the Fire Service, he has spent 23 years advising and enforcing Fire Safety, there is not much Stan has not seen! He can carry out Fire Risk Assessments, Fire Strategy Reports and examine plans and give advice on how to comply with Building Regulations in relation to Fire Safety.
Steve Docherty:

Steve Ostridge:
Profile coming soon.
Tony Stoddart:
Tony, formerly of Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service is a mountain bike leader, and has the unenviable task of travelling the world in charge of people on bikes. Recently he has been to Vietnam and Greece, with more exotic trips planned. When Tony turns up on your door step walking funny, chances are he has spent the last week in the saddle. In typical Cumbrian fashion, Tony is very laid back and nothing is ever a problem, which we like a lot.
Tracy Hurst:
Tracy was born into the construction industry, with her father being the owner of a civil engineering company in Bolton. She developed her interest in Health and Safety training with the increase of red tape due to the tightening of legislation. Having 25 years experience of training and administration, Tracy prides herself on finding practical solutions to everyday problems.
Tracy is happiest sharing a nice glass of red with family and friends. She recently tried diving and found she loved it, so is planning to go back to Tenerife and have a look around some off-shore wrecks.
