Case Study: Bank of China

Bank of China, or Bank of China Limited, is one of China's four state-owned commercial banks. Its businesses cover commercial banking, investment banking and insurances.

In November 1929, the Bank of China set up a branch office in London. This was not only the first branch of the Bank to be set up overseas, but was also the first overseas financial institution formed by any Chinese bank.

The Bank of China has operations throughout the UK, and it was after hearing MD Brian Gregory present at a Reliance Security on a river boat on the Thames in 2005 that Erica Shipley first established encountered SMUK.

Since then we have undertaken Fire Risk Assessments for a range of properties the Bank operates around the country, including residential accommodation as well as the more standard Banks and Office accommodation. We have also provided fire safety training to a range of the Bank's staff, helping them maintain regulatory compliance.

We have also run several fire warden training courses for the staff to ensure those attending could effectively evacuate the banks and ensure public safety in the event of a fire at one of the branches.
